Switch 2 exists for a specific kind of person: someone who wants earplugs for the commute, the office, and a concert on Saturday, and doesn't want to own three different pairs. A physical dial moves between three acoustic modes, each tuned similarly to one of Loop's dedicated models, roughly 26 dB in Quiet mode, 23 dB in Experience mode, and 20 dB in Engage mode.
The design won a 2025 Red Dot Award, and Hearingtracker's lab testing backed it up with A-to-B SoundGrades depending on mode. One reviewer described using all three settings across a single night out: Engage mode to chat between sets, Experience once the music started, Quiet if the volume got painful, calling the versatility "fantastic."
The cost of that flexibility is literal and physical. At $79.95 it's Loop's priciest earplug, and more than one reviewer flagged that the rotating switch is genuinely fiddly with longer nails. If you only need one noise level, especially just sleep, a single-purpose Loop plug will be cheaper and simpler to use.
It's also Loop's most prominent corporate partnership: Switch 2 is the official earplug of the McLaren Formula 1 Team, marketed by both brands for tuning out garage and pit-lane noise without losing focus, which is a reasonable proxy for how it handles a noisy office too.
Switch 2 is also the official earplug of the McLaren F1 Team, marketed for focus, live entertainment, and social gatherings.
The McLaren edition uses the same three-mode dial, just in the team's papaya-and-anthracite colorway.
